What a service business website has to do in eight seconds

A homeowner on a phone in a parking lot is your real design brief.

Answer three questions immediately

What do you do, where do you do it, and how do I start. If those are not answered above the fold on a phone, the visitor goes back to the search results. Everything else on the site - the process section, the gallery, the awards - only matters after those three are settled.

Design decisions that move booking rate

  • Tap-to-call visible without scrolling, on every page
  • Quote form short enough to finish at a red light: name, phone, service, address
  • Real photos of your crews and your jobs instead of stock imagery
  • Service and location pages that match how people actually search
  • Proof placed next to the action, not on a separate page
  • Fast load treated as a conversion requirement

The tracking that has to exist at launch

A site that cannot tell you which page produced a call is a brochure. Call tracking, form attribution, and event tracking wired to the CRM before launch means the first month of traffic is usable data instead of a guess you have to redo later.

Redesign only when it is the constraint

If your site converts and your problem is that nobody responds to the leads it produces, a redesign will not help. We scope website work against the number it is supposed to move - booking rate - and skip it when the constraint sits elsewhere.
